July 18, 2025 – Renovation Overview:

We are pleased to announce the successful completion of a significant renovation and rebranding initiative at Ballantyne Place, a retail center located in Charlotte, NC. Formerly known as Olde Lancaster Town Center, the revitalized property reflects CenterSquare’s strategic approach to enhancing high-performing, necessity-based Essential Service Retail (ESR) assets through targeted capital investment and proactive asset management.

Ballantyne Place has undergone a comprehensive transformation, designed to elevate both aesthetic appeal and tenant experience. Key upgrades include fresh exterior paint and new building awnings, lighting upgrades, including LED lights in the parking lot and string and roofline lights to enhance visibility and ambiance, enhanced aesthetic features such as upgraded landscaping for improved curb appeal and refreshed pylon signage to support tenant branding and visibility, seal and stripe of the parking lot to improve traffic flow and safety, and roof replacements across multiple buildings.

These improvements align with CenterSquare’s ESR investment strategy, which targets the repositioning of e-commerce-resistant, service-oriented retail centers in growth-oriented markets.

“The upgrades to Ballantyne Place enhance the quality of the center and the role it plays in the community,” said Megan Varano, Vice President of Private Equity Real Estate, “Our ESR properties are essential to the communities in which they reside, so we believe they should reflect the energy and vitality of the surrounding area.”

Ballantyne Place remains a vibrant community shopping destination, anchored by a strong mix of national and local tenants that deliver everyday essential goods and services to the surrounding region.
