CenterSquare Names Two Institutional Real Estate Veterans to its Advisory Board

Laurann Stepp and Steve Gruber have joined CenterSquare’s Advisory Board as its newest members.

November 8, 2023 – Plymouth Meeting, PA – CenterSquare Investment Management is pleased to announce it has named two institutional real estate veterans, Steve Gruber and Laurann H. Stepp, to its Advisory Board. Mr. Gruber and Ms. Stepp both bring a wealth of industry knowledge and experience to the board to advise on the firm’s research-led investment strategies and capital markets activity. They will also help guide CenterSquare’s corporate strategy and support the continued growth of the organization.

Mr. Gruber previously served as the Global Co-Head of Real Assets for Hamilton Lane, a global private markets investment management firm and currently serves as a Senior Advisor to the firm. Prior to Hamilton Lane, he was the founder of Real Asset Portfolio Management, an institutional advisory and investment firm focused on real estate, infrastructure, energy, timber, and agriculture properties. Prior to that, Mr. Gruber was the Senior Real Asset Portfolio Manager for the Oregon Public Employees Retirement System setting investment strategy and objectives for the roster of private and public real asset investment managers.

Ms. Stepp previously served as the Head of Corporate Acquisitions and Investment Products at Exeter Property Group (now EQT Exeter) after a long career across Pennsylvania’s largest pension funds. She was a Senior Portfolio Manager for the Pennsylvania Public School Employees’ Retirement System where she was responsible for establishing strategy, planning, investing and management of the global real estate and private debt portfolios. Ms. Stepp also held various investment management positions within the Pennsylvania State Employees’ Retirement System, where she oversaw and managed multiple global investment portfolios in the real estate, private equity, private debt, and venture capital asset classes, while establishing and monitoring policy compliance and risk controls.

CenterSquare’s Advisory Board is comprised of a diverse group of investment professionals, representing a versatile scope of expertise across the real estate landscape. Additional members of CenterSquare’s Advisory Board include Joe Gyourko, Professor of Real Estate, Finance and Business Economics at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business and Craig Macnab, Former CEO of National Retail Properties and current independent director of American Tower Corporation and VICI Properties.
