Chad Burkhardt is a Managing Director on the Private Real Estate Team, responsible for oversight on acquisitions and portfolio management in the eastern United States.
Prior to joining CenterSquare, Chad led real estate acquisitions for a New York-based single-family office investing in distressed real estate in the United States and Puerto Rico. He also worked at D. E. Shaw & Co., a multi-strategy hedge fund, where he oversaw commercial real estate acquisitions and was responsible for real estate credit, including the purchase of senior and subordinate debt positions, as well as CMBS and REIT securities. Chad began his career at Merrill Lynch & Co. in Global Principal Investments, which invested the firm’s balance sheet in commercial real estate debt and equity in the Americas.
Chad holds a B.S. in Hotel Administration with a concentration in Real Estate Finance and Management from Cornell University. He is a member of the firm’s Private Real Estate Investment and Management Committees. He also serves as a Director of New York Private Equity Network (NYPEN) Real Estate, the Girard College Foundation, and the Revolution School in Philadelphia.
